Nan XU

Motivated by the desire to acquire more advanced knowledge and benefit from a multicultural setting outside Mainland China, I chose to continue my MPhil studies at HKUST. During the 2-year ECE program, I have studied the integrated circuit (IC) theories systematically from prestigious professors, enhanced my hands-on skills via diverse projects, and strengthened my research competence in Power Management IC and System Design domain.

HKUST offers not only a rigorous, elite education but also an interactive cross-disciplinary learning atmosphere. I really appreciate the individualized interdisciplinary program offered by HKUST(GZ), where I have started my PhD studies. With this innovative project-based learning and research pedagogy, I can team up with passionate students from diverse backgrounds and conduct field investigations outside of campus. I am encouraged to brainstorm beyond the lab and articles, identify the real pain points, match them with advanced research and, collaboratively, discover solutions that have significant social impact. This exemplifies one of HKUST's ideals: "One university, infinite possibilities".
