You can settle the application fee online by credit card (Visa or MasterCard), Alipay or WeChat Pay. If you don’t have a credit card, you can use a third-party credit card upon receiving the cardholder’s consent.
Please note that the application fee cannot be waived.

Can I apply for the HK PhD Fellowship and Postgraduate Studentship (PGS) at the same time?

If you are interested in applying for the HKPFS, you should indicate your interest in the Online Admission System.
For PGS, no separate application is required. All full-time research postgraduate students will be automatically considered for the studentship.
Please note students are only allowed to receive either HK PhD Fellowship or Postgraduate Studentship.

Yes for non-local students, but the fellowship should well cover your tuition fee and living costs.

How much is the tuition fee?

As announced by the HKSAR Government, the tuition fee for PhD studies will be HK$44,500 for 2025/26 academic year and be adjusted to HK$47,000 for 2026/27 and HK$49,500 for 2027/28.
