A bench fee is a mandatory fee, in addition to tuition fees. Full-time non-local self-financed Research Postgraduate students could be liable to pay for the bench fee.
The bench fee for 2024-25 and 2025-26 is HK$150,000, and is subject to annual review by the University.
Applicants who are required to pay bench fees upon admission would be informed in advance, and relevant information would also be stated in the admission offer letter in the Online Admission System.
Our full-time RPg programs are all UGC-funded while part-time RPg programs are not. Full-time RPg students admitted without Postgraduate Studentship (PGS) are considered as self-financed RPg students.

As announced by the HKSAR Government, the tuition fee for PhD studies will be HK$44,500 for 2025/26 academic year and be adjusted to HK$47,000 for 2026/27 and HK$49,500 for 2027/28.
